Mayfield School – Library - Brookhouse
Mayfield School approached Brookhouse to create a modernised Library refurbishment. They explained that they wanted to create an environment where students can learn, read and study in a space that is calm but also well organised.
Increased book space was key but this needed to be not just practical but also an attractive feature in the room. Budget was limited so Brookhouse needed to be highly creative with what they could achieve along with utilising existing furniture where possible.

How Brookhouse Transformed Mayfield School’s Library into a Modern Learning Space
The design that Brookhouse provided made clever use of the space available and provided a modern, bright and light open library.
Zoned areas were created using LVT flooring and carpet tiles to make a clear differential between the various seating sections. Light oak book shelving was strategically placed so that different genres of books could be clearly marked and signage was placed on bookshelf ends.
Mayfield School also wanted an illuminated sign on the outside of the Library building and this was provided in a back-lit design with 3D lettering, perfect for the job!
The end result delighted Mayfield and both students and teachers have provided very positive feedback. The students even wrote a poem in appreciation of the new library.
